Fate has torn us apart and sometimes I believe the stars have given up on us altogether.

Without my sister, the world seems darker than ever before and the shadows loom thicker, rising up to answer the call of the Shadow Princess and changing the face of Solaria for good.

Now Lionel Acrux has the strength to make a move for the throne, I’m not sure how much time we have left to stop him.

Our only hope is to find the Imperial Star before he does. We made the sacrifice the stars called for and we’re paying the price for that decision so it can’t be for nothing. But with the stars turning against us at every move, and the last light in the world seeming to fade, I’m afraid we’re almost out of time. Hope is a dangerous thing. It’s the key to us fighting on. But it could be what destroys us in the end.

One thing is for certain, I won’t stop until I have been reunited with my other half and together we will fight to take our crowns.

Fated Throne, the sixth book in the Zodiac Academy series, was quite a read. I felt like my emotions were all over the place as I read this book because there was just so much that happened due to the events that transpired at the end of Cursed Fates. It made this series all the more interesting as I continued to read to see what would happen next.

I feel like there was just so much bad that happened in this book, but at the same time, felt like there was a lot of good that came about too. For the first time since reading this series, things were really starting to turn around. Well… almost. For once, there’s a book in this series where the main characters get over Lionel. But it feels like it costs them so much too, especially for Tory and Darius.

I found myself feeling empathetic to Tory and Darius as I read this book. There was just so many bad things that happened to both of their characters in this book that I found myself feeling really sad for them in the hope that things would turn around for them for the better. And there was a brief time when things did get better for both of them until Lionel found out that Tory wasn’t under his control anymore. Once that happened, things went downhill really fast not just for Tory and Darius, but everyone.

But then, there was a lot of good that happened in this book too. They were able to get the Imperial Star without Lionel finding out, everyone was really starting to get along and working together, Orion received the closure he needed regarding his sister Clara, and Darius was able to save everyone from dying at Lionel’s hands. And for the first time since I started reading this series, Fated Throne actually had a decent ending. Yes, Darius had to make a really tough choice that I’m still reeling from, but everyone made it through and accomplished quite a lot in their fight against Lionel.

I also felt like there was a lot of character development in this book. Tory went through so much trauma in this book because of what Lionel did to her. But instead of breaking her, I felt like she became an even stronger character because of it. I also feel like Darcy’s character developed too in that I felt like she was truly starting to see that she can handle things herself without needing her sister’s help all the time. I also felt like all of the Heirs were getting along with them very well too and it was nice seeing their relationships with each other continue to grow.

There was just so much that Fated Throne had in its story that I enjoyed reading to see what would happen next. Yes, it was extremely dark at times, but I also saw a lot of hope too. Mostly because of what they accomplished together during this book in their fight against Lionel. Then, there was the ending too which in my opinion, has been the best ending I’ve seen in this series so far. I think for me that’s because it was the first ending where things weren’t completely bad for everyone involved. Yes, I feel like these characters deserve a break and a lot of good coming their way, but I also understand that their fight against Lionel is far from over. And the end of this book in the Zodiac Academy series highlighted just that to me. I wasn’t at all completely happy at the choice Darius ended up having to make at the end of this book, but I also understood why he made that decision and how that decision helped those in this series I care about. It makes me sad thinking of what’s to come for his character since he’s easily become one of my favorite characters in this series, and how everyone else will react when they realize his fate, but I understand it. Overall, I enjoyed reading Fated Throne as there was a lot the sixth book in the Zodiac Academy series had to offer. It was action packed, the character’s development with each other continued to grow, and there was a lot they were able to accomplish in their quest to take down Lionel and stop him from ruling over Solaria. Not to mention this book not having a bad ending in comparison to the rest of the books in this series. Really excited to see what will happen next in the seventh book in this series, Heartless Sky, and what all everyone will accomplish as they work together to defeat Lionel.
